Unfortunately I had problems with both of my cataract multi focal lens procedures. Even though they knew I was diabetic they scheduled me for the last surgery of the day and by time I arrived for the scheduled appointment my blood sugar had dropped too low. I had to be given IV glucose and then they were able to do the surgery very successfully. The second eye I made sure I was scheduled for the morning but this time it was scheduled for the morning but just as we pulled into the parking lot I received a text message saying my appointment was delayed by an hour due to a broken sterilizing machine. After one hour they got me set with an IV but then waited another hour before finally having my surgery. Both surgeries went really well and I was just disappointed and annoyed that first they didn’t take in to account that I’m diabetic and second that I didn’t get notified about the broken equipment until I had already arrived and going home was not an option and this also made all kinds of problems for my husband who was my ride. Scheduling needs take into consideration peoples health issues and work on letting patients know earlier in advance so there can be adjustments made.
Everyone at the Connecticut Eye Surgery Center is respectful, helpful, professional, supportive and kind. The patient care team before and after surgery is very pleasant, which adds so much to the overall experience. The facility itself is easy to find and clean, with great parking. I highly recommend the Connecticut Eye Surgery Center.
An altogether very positive experience.
